Equipment

Fighting equipment for Belegarth can be purchased from Edhellen Armory and Warlord Sports. They can also be constructed from easily acquired materials. The commercial equipment is well made and should pass at events (until they start to break down, like anything else). Individually made equipment has been experimented with by many people for years and the most consistent and durable designs are explained on the Belegarth Wiki.

Below are direct links to construction instructions for the most common equipment on the field. Making your own starter gear will be much easier if you speak with a more experienced player. They will usually be happy to answer any questions and guide you in constructing your gear.

Most all of the supplies described in the tutorials below can be found in the St. George area. Some suppliers we have used are:

Safety Equipment

No safety gear is required in order to participate in this sport and many veteran players do not use any. However, as with any physical activity, some types of safety gear could save a lot of money later. This thread contains links to equipment people have purchased or read about. The most common types of safety gear used in the game are:
  • Gloves: Typically MMA, Lacrosse or stickfighting gloves.
  • Knee Pads: Typically the volleyball or wrestling type.
  • Cup (Men): One you can move in, MMA variety are probably best.
  • Chest Protector (Women): Typically leather armor or a plastic chest protector
  • Eyes/face: Typically an in-game valid helmet (leather or iron), women's lacrosse goggles or prescription sports goggles.
