Bandshoppe type poles, Free shipping.

So one of my guys, Templar, mentioned a place he heard of on the dag board, that sells bandshoppe poles with free shipping. So I look the topic on the Dag board and this is what I found:

On the Dag forum, Alric bought a couple and evaluated them. The shipping is free. The 8' are in stock for $12.95 and I ordered one. There is no minimum to buy and the shipping is via ground shipping. So Alric said they are not Bandshoppe poles, per se. He says they are 1 inch diameter, but have a slightly thinner thickness than bandshoppe. He believes they are sturdy enough for spears and what not and he would post later on how they work out for him. I will do the same and post when it comes in (how long the shipping took) and I am going to make another 8' spear. I will post how it holds up, etc.

For shorter lenght (7', 6.5' and 5') we have a local source here in Las Vegas, so shipping is not an issue. I'm still wanting a 5' danish war axe. =)

Thanks, Konradr. Chances are very good they will fix the free shipping on these really soon as they are probably spending more on shipping than we are paying for the product. People, if you want one of these, get it ordered ASAP.

UPS tracking says I should recieve it this Thursday! That is fast for ground shipping! Let you know if it comes in then.

Yeah! The pole came in today at noon! It was free shipping, came quick. It is 8' and black fiberglass. It has a shiny sheen like bandshoppe but is definately not bandshoppe. It is a lighter pole. It feels almost like plastic, however, does not flex when I shake it hard. I'm sure its fiberglass, just not as thick a fiberglass as bandshoppe. I will make a min head spear and we shall test it on the field.

So far it looks very promising as a spear. I don't know if I would make a red out of it, but folks on the dag forum have bought 6 footers to make reds with.

Shipped today!

It should be here by next Wednesday and I'll have a spear made up out of it by practice next. Much sooner than the 21st that they quoted. I'm hoping it will have good flex/durability. This could be the go-to place for bandshoppe poles.

Barad'dun boards had this thread going on about free shipping on band poles.

One of the guys there lives next door and offered to pick some up for people who give him money. I'm asking if anyone there can front some cash and I'll pay them on Saturday 8/13/11 when we go down. If you want to get a band pole, this would be a time to do it - provided that they're willing to go get it and front the cash. OR you make a little side trip to pick it up and buy it in person. Do it

8 footer is running $15.95 + tax. The original website that Konradr posted (music123) has the same pricing, but its strictly by mail. It's a good deal though - I got my glaive pole from there.

I don't think that is the local place. The local place in N. Las Vegas only had 5, 6 and 7 footers the last I heard. It's called American Band something or other. The link is to the mail order place I got my 8 footer from.
