Barad'dun Raid in Vegas - Saturday August 13th, 2011

Plans are to raid Barad'dun in Vegas on August 13th, 2011
Leave here about 10 am our time and get there at 11 am their time.
Fight for 4-5 hours at their normal practice and come back

Bring your own lunch and water (though they will have water fountains)

Only cost will be the gas to get down there and whatever food you choose to purchase. Car pool to make it efficient!

Garb will be mandatory except for people in their first two weeks.

Forkbeard has organized a battle game called "Border Wars". I think its all about land capturing and some RP, but the fighting sounds like a good time with both Amt and Bel fighters attending.

It occurs in Liberty Park in SLC the first Saturday of every month.

Since it is June, let's attempt to make it for the August date. That gives us 2 months to prepare, SAVE MONEY, and fix gear. After this we're still 2 months away from SamHain in October and then another month away from Barad'dun's event in November.

This will be good fighting and good times. We can bring some stuff to grill at the park and be home by night for our younger members.

I don't think I'll even push my luck on this one. I'd like to go up there, but I know I owe you for Yestare, and I feel like it's only right of me to pay you what I feel i should BEFORE I try going up to another event I know I can't afford.

That reminds me,

I was speaking with Libra a couple weeks ago and since we get along better with the Vegas guys, and its closer, and they came up here last, we should probably make a trip down there instead of making one up north.

For a day event/practice raid it makes much more sense economically, not to mention the company as a whole is better.

So, what say you all?

Vegas trip is more economical by any means, Most peoplle can come up a few bucks to get there. Just pass up the Star Bucks a couple of times and there is the gas money.

Haha, if I pass up starbucks a couple of times, it means I went a year without it. I rarely have starbucks, and when I do, it's usually because a friend bought it for me. I do get what you're saying though. :P

What about moving it further back one week to Saturday, August 13th, 2011?

My wife has bike races the 6th and the 20th, so if we're going to do it in August, I can only participate on the 13th or 27th.

I have the 28" white foam shields for $20, about 4 of them, and the 30" heavier, dark gray shields for $20 as well, 1 of those. If people want to make a punch out of them they can let me know and I'll teach them the really cool and long-lasting method Fitz came up with for putting in punch handles.

Google translate didn't do tooooo bad. The language I used is fairly. . . colloquial, so we can't fault the translation bots for not getting it.

Back in the day, when I was an infantryman in the Army in the mid '80's, we trained to shoot people that spoke like that. Just sayin' Now I am politically correct and just kill them with love, or foam covered sticks. =)

Not too bad. Volchyonok, like rebyonok and a few other very old singular nouns referring to young off-spring is an odd declension. It means a wolf-pup.

Chainik or teapot is a slang reference to one's head. So, I'll give it to you on the teapot is a punk kid way of saying you're gonna catch it in the head. :)

It'll be fun to chat with Izzy in Russian when we're down there. I get very few chances around here.
