Demon Wars - Provo, UT: Saturday, August 20th, 2011

Ered Duath in Provo, UT is hosting "Demon Wars" at South Fork Park.

Cost: FREE
What: 1 day event

Specifics: Weapons check will be officially held between 10am-12pm. After that you will need to find a herald who will do it. It is planned to have light/minimum role play with quests available if you choose or desire to them. Likewise it's an awesome chance to come down or up for a full Saturday of fighting. We will be selling snacks, food, and drinks throughout the day in case someone decides they are hungry. This is a Belegarth event and all weapon garb and armor checks will be held strictly to BoW standards.

I will not be able to attend this event since my wife already has a bike race planned.

If you guys are going to do it, make sure you car pool.

Awesome!

Let's hear some details. How did you do? How did people react to you? Come away with any good tips? Remember any names?

Well to give a full report....

The event was hosted by Anders, and a big part of this event was role playing. The location was excellent, a big field with a lot nice little forest for questing. They has some really high quality fighters. Names that stick out are Arrow, Serg, Nash...Not sure if you guys are familiar with any of them. As for myself I felt like i did good for the fighting. I really like the role playing aspect of this event. Part of the questing involved obtaining a black weapon, which is basically just an upgrade of a red, for example a black weapon would break a shield with one hit. This added a fun twist to the game. Later in the day we played a game called Jugging, it's kinda like relic but a little more complicated. This was a small event we only had about as many people that come to our practices come out, but Anders says this was just due to lack of planning and advertising. In past years they have had up to 150 people. Next year they want to make it a bigger even and get more people out. It would be cool if a group us car pooled up next year. I Learned a ton going to this event and fighting. It really makes me look forward to Sam Hain.

Outstanding!

I'm glad you had a fun time and learned a lot. It's true: one event is worth about 2 months of practices as far as knowledge learned and body mechanics practiced.

We're all familiar with Nash down here, he's a great big guy and a powerful hitter. Big teddy bear though so long as you're on the good side.

I'm also looking forward to Samhain.

Thanks for the report!

Thanks for the report, Misty. The ED guys are good people; I'm glad you had a chance to get to know some of them better and get some quality fighting time in. Samhain will see an even larger variety of fighters and some really great skill.

We have occasionally done some jugging on our field as well. If you really loved it, I'm sure we could probably give another go one of these nights.
