Helmet from Forkbeard

I've commissioned a leather helmet from Forkbeard in either:
spangenhelm
or
norman style
whichever is easiest for him (probably spangenhelm) for my new Viking kit. Color will be gray or silver so it looks metallic with some black brushed in the recesses to make it old and dirty looking. It will also have small holes drilled around the bottom edge from side to side across the back so I can add my own aventail. Total cost was $75.00

Scottsman is also soon to be in the process of building my PD round shield when his new foam arrives.

If I finish my chain mail and commission a set of garb (Patchiz, want some paid work? O:-D) I'll be all set.

cool i seen some of the helmets he makes in that style. You should think up a personal emblem to put on it. you could have it put on your garb and weapon and sheid for decoration and to tell people its yours.

Hmmm, that sounds intriguing.

Where would it go on the helmet?

Anyone ever PD a leather helmet to make it look metallic? Just thoughts. Forkbeard had posted pics of his helmets. They are nice looking. Wouldn't mind getting one myself if'n I had the money. The wealthy Norse often embellished the brim of the nose piece with gold or silver work. Or even added a fancy Occular guard.
