Yurt for Tiberius

hey honorable fighters I give a call out to all able to contribute labor to the building of a yurt for our leader Tiberius. Here are similar examples

As I understand tibs has the trampoline frame, and with a contribution from the Vanderwall Theatre Guild the long poles.
As materials become available:(Based on a 12' trampoline frame)
canvas painters tarps 6Qty 4'x12'
1Qty 10'A Frame gazebo metal rafter or 1Qty 2"x2" lumber
1 QTY 8' by 2"or 4" wood pole or equivalent length metal pole
2500 feet of heavy quilting thread(brown or white)
50 grommets
The labor requires cutting of lumber if lumber is chosen over the gazebo roof frame, drilling into the trampoline frame.
The sewing I can do as long as there is another person there with the arm/back strength to lift, fold, push and pull the fabric as it enters and exits the sewing machine.
We (Scottsman) have all the tools to do this job, unless ya have a better hand saw.;)
Your volunteering is much appreciated.

What a call to action!

Thanks Patchiz. I do have the frame and am looking all the time for materials to build this. I would like it to belong to the Realm if possible (there's enough mutual donation towards construction, etc).

This is a side project for me, personally since I don't have a lot of time now, but something I have had on the back burner of my horizon goals for a while now.

I find it fascinating that a gazebo top is used. I wonder if one can be salvaged somewhere to save on cost? Is the top able to be taken apart and consolidated, or is it a permanent fixture?

Thoughts, ideas?

Wow....14 feet. That's much bigger than I thought.

How will that work with current skirting?

I believe I have a couple of LARGE spindles of heavy, beige thread. Might be enough.
I may have grommets.
I have a bunch of scrap garment leather that could be used as reinforcement at pole/canvas contact points.
I would enjoy getting together to work on this with you guys.

Fantastic Isk, the more we have to get the yurt together the better. The leather will be an awesome authentic touch , I think. Appears we are moving right along with supplies and laborers. Tonight Gemini mentioned a desire to contribute labor also. Yeah!!!!!!! The Yurt is going to have a floating roof so we will be going with the 2 x 2's. Home Depot has the lumber for a couple a bucks each and we are looking at a dozen or so of those. Brian mentioned using a 16" inch bycycle rim for the center ring of the roof, the material is an interesting idea as long as the rim is wide enough to hold the 2 x 2. If anybody has a spare rim laying around to experiment with that would be helpful also, I can return the rim untarnished as I have scrap lumber to test with.

okay we are on our way. Bringing the rim to practice would be helpful. Putting the sample wood in the SUV to take to practice.

I've tried calling you several times but I keep getting "The Magic Jack customer you are trying to reach is currently unavailable."

I originally cut 4 of the poles. Did I need to do more? I don't remember.

Thanks for trying to call, the telephone is internet based. When we woke up this morning we found that we had not retrieved the poles from your truck, lack of communication with eachother(Brian and me), our apologies. No more work required by ya on the poles, your contribution is noted. The poles will be picked up during the weapon build and then..ya probably won't hear a peep until completion of the Yurt.
